About Me
Greetings fellow earthlings! My name is Amanda. As fellow humans, we can work together to help you through this unpredictable life more easily. In response to our shared challenges of heartbreak, disappointment, pain and fear, I want to offer you the universal needs of feeling seen, heard, valued and supported.
I focus on deeper work, to thoroughly understand the experiences and relationships that have led you to how you feel today. Together, we can look for unhelpful patterns in your life, and for creative changes to help ease the struggles you have been dealing with, and find more balance, peace and hope for your future.

Some real talk from a fellow client (me!): therapy can be uncomfortable and challenging, but worth the effort. I would like to offer you the compassion, understanding and safety for you to lean into that effort. I commend you for your courage to seek out the help you need, and look forward to hearing your story to help you along this journey!

I bring my openness and upbeat sense of humour into our sessions. My active approach is integrative and adaptable, because everyone needs personalized support.
I draw primarily on Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities, but also on Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural interventions when needed. I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and have completed trainings in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and for working with grief and trauma.

I engage in personal psychotherapy and weekly supervision as part of my personal and professional self-care. I cannot pour from an empty cup, and nor can you. This is part of how I ensure I can show up for you fully and mindfully.
I offer sessions between Tuesday and Thursday, in the afternoons and evenings, Eastern Standard Time (EST). While this is flexible according to your needs, I suggest weekly or bi-weekly sessions, because psychotherapy is most effective if frequent and consistent.
Sessions are 60 minutes in length and cost $140 for individual sessions, and $170 for couples sessions. I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. We can find out if we could be a good fit with a free 30-minute consultation.

I am governed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO licence #10816), and am also a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I follow the CRPO's Code of Ethics, and PHIPA guidelines.
